POST-OPERATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Washings - After care
After the hair transplant procedure, you should spray the implanted grafts every 30 to 40 minutes, except for the sleeping hours, with the saline solution that’s being provided by us. It’s suggested to continue the same process for the first 3 days.

The first morning after the procedure
The next morning, when you wake up, you can take off the bandage that has been placed to your donor area. Take off the tape that’s on the right and left side of the donor area, then spray with the saline spray, and slowly remove the bandage.
It’s suggested to spray the donor area with the saline spray to clean it and remove the bloody spots.
Before sleeping, use the sterile sheet on your pillow.
The first wash
On the third day, you can start washing both the donor and the recipient area. It’s better to washyour hair with medium to cold temperature water, using medium pressure on your grafts. Put some baby shampoo on your palms, make some foam and apply it gently with tapping motion to the grafts. Then, you can wash the donor area without any restriction, if there isn’t any sensitivity or pain. Rinse your hair with water and repeat the process one more time. Dry your head with a clean towel doing tapping motion. Repeat the same process in the evening.
Washing the next 7-10 days
Continue the washing process by increasing the pressure of your hands, and doing circular motion with your fingertips as the days goes by. Do not use your nails during the washings. You should do two times shampoo in the morning and two times in the evening. In order to get your head clean faster, you can let the grafts soak in with the shampoo for 10 minutes and then do some gentle massage. After the 10 days, your head should be clean, and you can continue with normal pressure during the wash, as you did before.
2. Medication
Gastro – protection (omeprazole – Nexium): you have to take one tablet every morning 30 minutes before breakfast for 3 days to prevent any annoyance from the rest of the medication
Antibiotics (Augmentin/ Zinadol, etc): you have to take one pill every 12 hours without an empty stomach for the total days that our doctors recommend you after your operation.
Anti-inflammatory (Medrol): you have to take one pill every 12 hours without an empty stomach for 3 days. Expect for the morning after the hair transplant operation, you have to take 2 pills.
In case of pain or discomfort you can take some paracetamol. If the pain continues, contact us.
3. Useful information
1) For the first 3-4 days it’s better to sleep either on the side or on your back, depends on the area that the grafts are being placed. If the grafts are being placed lower on your crown, you can use either a travel pillow or you can roll a towel and place it on your neck so it will lift your head from the pillow.
2) You should avoid the excessive sun and rain exposure for next days.
3) You can carefully wear a baseball hat after 5 days but carefully so you don’t rub the hat in the graft. (The hat should be washed before use)
4) You will be able to work out intensely after 14 days. Lower pressure work out, like aerobic, can take place after 7 days.
5) It‘s suggested to reduce or stop smoking for the next 7-10 days.
6) After 30 days you can start using styling products and getting haircuts.
7) Also after 30 days you can start using a motorcycle helmet.
8) It’s also advised to use shirts with buttons or big necklines for the first 3-4 days.
9) You should avoid swimming in the sea for the first 10 days and in the pool for 20 days.
